ABOUT PRAETORIAN

ABOUT PRAETORIAN

PRAETORIAN is set up to train 10 doctoral candidates who will collaboratively work to develop novel approaches in precision sepsis patient care providing new diagnostics and therapeutics to answer to an urgent unmet clinical need.

WHO’S INVOLVED?

WHO’S INVOLVED?

PRAETORIAN is an interdisciplinary and international consortium involving five partners from academia, seven partners from industry, four organisations representing the perspective of patients and society and two organisations for international dissemination and outreach.

FOR WHOM?

FOR WHOM?

Supported researchers who, at the time of recruitment by the host organisation, shall be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.

PRAETORIAN

In this project, multidisciplinary approaches by a combination of computational (in silico) and experimental methods will be applied to investigate the molecular mechanisms of DAMPs and NETs in the pathogenesis of sepsis and immunothrombosis and to develop new bioactive compounds to regulate key drug targets involved in pathogenic pathways that lead to sepsis and/or immunothrombotic disease.

PRAETORIAN PROJECTS

PRAETORIAN PROJECTS

The researchers will collaboratively work to develop novel approaches in precision ICU patient care and provide new diagnostics and therapeutics for sepsis.

PRAETORIAN TRAINING

PRAETORIAN TRAINING

The PRAETORIAN training programme consists of three main elements: Local scientific skills training, network-wide training in scientific and transferable skills and secondments.

DOCTORAL NETWORKS
